Graduation from a school or college approved by the board including completion of an approved course in land surveying of four years or more shall be considered equivalent to four years of required experience. Each year of approved course without graduation considered equivalent to a year of required experience. Postgraduate study in land surveying may count for up to one additional year.

Experience must be of character satisfactory to board indicating competence to practice land surveying. Broad based, progressive learning under direct supervision of person authorized to practice land surveying. Board may grant up to 2 years credit for master's or 4 years for doctorate, but total cannot be reduced below 4 years.
