§1071.253 and §1071.254: Various educational pathways accepted, including: Bachelor's degree in land surveying from accredited program; Associate's degree in land surveying; Bachelor's degree in related field with specific surveying coursework; Combination of education meeting Board-approved course checklist requirements. Same educational categories as SIT certificate requirements under §1071.253.
Applicants must submit certified college transcripts. Approved Course Checklist must be accompanied by course descriptions from collegiate catalog. All courses must be conferred by official transcript. Only transcripts in sealed envelopes from collegiate institution accepted as 'certified'. Not required to submit Approved Course Checklist if bachelor's or associate's degree in land surveying.

§1071.254: Specific experience requirements demonstrating Delegated Responsible Charge Time: (a) In the field: applicant must have had the direction of work, the successful accomplishment of which rested upon the applicant, where decision questions involve the method of execution without relying upon advice or instructions from supervisors. (b) In the office: applicant must have had to undertake tasks demanding resourcefulness, originality, initiative, professional skill, and ability to select alternatives. Work must include: Computations and drafting using rough sketches, general information, and field measurements for reference; Progressive responsibility over time; Supervision by Registered Professional Land Surveyor.
Experience must be clearly documented with: Separation of sub-professional experience and delegated responsible charge time by percentage under each employment; Names and addresses of supervising Registered Professional Land Surveyors; Character of work performed and extent of responsibility; Detailed descriptions demonstrating surveying knowledge and judgment. NOTE: The Professional Land Surveying Practice Act does not govern any aspect of engineering and no credit will be given to engineering work for surveying licensure. Supplementary Experience Records required with detailed documentation of all surveying experience.
