SOURCE SUMMARY
Tennessee Code Annotated § 62-18-109, § 62-18-110. Licensure by comity for applicants with active license in another state/jurisdiction. Must meet minimum Tennessee pathway requirements. Does not require PLSIT certificate first. Must pass FS and PS exams (from any state) + Tennessee-Specific (TS) exam + provide 5 references (3 PLS) + submit 2 plats + official transcripts. Tennessee does not register by reciprocity.; Tennessee Code Annotated § 62-18-102(3). Alternate pathway for persons currently employed in land surveying under federal government exemption (not requiring state license) with at least 10 years experience of a standard satisfactory to the Board. Alternate pathway for persons who obtained land surveyor license in another jurisdiction under circumstances that do not meet minimum standards for reciprocity, with at least 10 years experience of a standard satisfactory to the Board.
